Overview
Expanding internationally multiplies SEO complexity. The wrong domain structure or a broken hreflang setup can make Google show the wrong country page or ignore new markets entirely. We plan it right before you launch.
In depth
What is international SEO?
International SEO is the process of optimizing a website so search engines show the right language or country version to users in different markets.
It involves choosing a URL structure such as country code domains, subdirectories or subdomains, implementing hreflang tags correctly, localizing content beyond direct translation, handling currency and shipping details, and building authority in each target market. The goal is that a searcher in Germany sees your German page, a searcher in Canada sees your Canadian page and neither lands on a version that does not fit.
Common mistakes include automatic redirects based on IP address that block search engines from seeing other versions, hreflang tags with missing return links, machine translated pages with no local review and duplicate English pages for the US, UK and Australia without meaningful differences. International SEO also requires local keyword research, because people in different countries may use entirely different terms for the same product. For US companies expanding abroad, we plan the structure before launch, which avoids costly restructuring later.

Why it matters
Why international SEO matters for global growth
01
Show the right page to the right user
Without clear signals, search engines may show your US page to UK users or rank the wrong language version. International SEO makes sure visitors land on content with the correct language, pricing and shipping details. That reduces bounces and confused customers.
02
Local search behavior differs
Search terms, intent and competitors vary by country. Translating US keywords directly often misses how people actually search. Local research helps each market version target the phrases that bring in customers there. Even English speaking markets use different terms, spellings and brands.
03
Avoid duplicate content conflicts
Multiple similar versions of the same page can compete with each other. Proper hreflang and canonical setup tells search engines how versions relate, so each one can rank in its own market without confusion. It also prevents wasted crawling on near identical pages.

Every month
What you get each month
What you get every month, visible in your dashboard.
Week 1
URL structure recommendation
We compare country code domains, subdirectories and subdomains against your budget, markets and technical setup, then recommend the structure that fits your expansion plans. Choosing early avoids painful restructuring later.
Week 2
Hreflang implementation and audit
We map every language and country version, implement hreflang through HTML, headers or sitemaps, and verify return links and canonical consistency across all versions. Errors are flagged before they confuse search engines.
Week 3
Market specific keyword research
We research search terms, volume and competitors in each target country and language, so localized pages target real local queries rather than translated US phrases.
Week 4
Localization quality review
We work with native speakers to check that translated pages read naturally, use local terminology and include market details such as currency, units and contact information.
